2002 Honda Accord fuel pump

Yes my friends car wont start and the shop said the fuel pump is out. We can hear it run, they also said that the cost of repairing it was outragous. Is it a expensive repair as I did find one at checker auto parts that was only 150.00 so is their alot of time to replace it.

Hi badracer,

If the pump is running, it should not be bad. If you have difficulty starting and low fuel pressure, the more likely fault would be a bad fuel pump housing which is also the in-tank filter. It is known to leak and cause loss of pressure.

Getting to the fuel pump is rather easy and it can be accessed via the trunk floor board just behind the seats.
