A couple of day ago I hit my car on a sidewalk ( I ran over it) after that I heard a squealing sound close to the distributor, one day after that tha light check engine came on, I scanned it for the error code , I've got the P1382 error code, CYP sensor no signal. I read several articles over the internet that say replace the Distributor, but I raplaced it two months ago , it is almost new, so is it possible to fail in a short time?, or maybe it could be another problem?
The timming belt has to be replace it soon, Is it possible that belt could cause damage to the distributor, running the car with a worn out belt?

The CYP sensor is built into the dist. on '97 and later models, so the impact may have damaged it even though the dist. is new.

Change the timimg belt in acccordance with maint. schedule, do NOT go past the scheduled change interval, if timig belt breaks, you will be looking at significant damage.

I would replace timing belt and see if noise continues, before changing dist.
