Hi, please I need your advice on what to do. My car Honda Accord 1999 model At. Has been working fine until a month ago when I started noticing a slight hesitation when on low speed.I've just realized now that the car usually feels like as if being clutched down while changing from one gear to the other(gear shifting is very rough) until when in overdrive. Also the engine cannot get above 5000rpm when being revved in idle.
Note:i've changed atf, adjusted the atf volume to recommended capacity, cleaned the solenoid screen. Also the codes that I got on scanning is P0400 & P0402.
thanks in anticipation of your reply

Hi Abuzayman,

Please reconfirm the trouble codes. Both are not listed on the DTC list.

Hi KHlow2008,

thanks for your time, the code I got was P0400 & P0402 & the interpretation was egr malfunction & rich burn problem. But the trans problem seems ok after removal & cleaning of all the shift valves.
I'll like to know if limited revving is normal for all accords.

P0401 is EGR in sufficient flow.

P0172 is Fuel trim rich.

The codes that you mentioned are not on the list.

There is a engine rev limiter for all makes but for your vehicle, it seems to be below the standard limit, which should be at the red liine of the tachometer.

Rev limiter working below the standard set rpm could be due to a fault in the throttle position sensor, ECM and other components.
