Belt replacement

It is just a matter of removing and replacing the part. Go to the parts store and get the belt you need for your vehicle. When you return, go to this web page

The first pictures are for a timing belt and will not relate to this job. Page down until you see adjusting bolts, AC compressor... Locate the locking bolts as listed and loosen the alt. Install the belt the way it shows in the picture and then adjust the belt (tighten it). It should have a bout 3/4" play back and forth when adjusted.

Here are the procedures.

ADJUSTMENT

1. Loosen the mounting bolt and locknut.

2. Turn the adjusting anticlockwise to loosen the belting for removal and installation of the new belt.

3. Install new belt and check that it is seated correctly by pulling at it ti let it slip over the pullies.

4. Turn the adjusting bolt to obtain the proper belt tension, then retighten the locknut and mounting bolt.

5. Recheck the belt tension.

6. Run the engine for 5 minutes, then readjust the belt to the used belt specification.
