Okay heres the thing, I just got done cutting my hair, and as I was leaving the barber I put my key in the ignition, the second I twist to turn it on all the lights appear on the dashboard and shuttt no electricity at all no power at allll, so I call a friend of mine to give me a jump, it takes almost 30 mins to charge up, finally I give it a try. It turns on, then shuts off, I try a couple of times same result turns on, then shuts of right away IT WONT STAY ON! The only way the engine stays running is if I keep my foot on the gass pedal, but as soo as I release car is off again, so I thought maybe the battery, I go and get a new battery, nothing same result, soo please car experts HELP MEE! What is wrong with my car?

Make: 1998 Honda Accord

I am worried that we have two problems. One the charging of the battery and second the dieing of the car. One solution to look at is the cable from the battery to the starter, etc. If it fails the car will have trouble starting and staying running. Any engine codes showing up?

Call the local Honda dealer and give the Svc. Dept your VIN. There's a recall on the ignition switches in that gen of Accords. Causes problems very similar to yours.

Stalling. Flickering dash. Idle stalls. All that rot.

It's a free repair and takes about 1 hour.
