1998 Honda Accord could this be the distributor?

My car would start ok in the morning-no hard starts.
@ the end of the day after work, engine won't
start until I crank it up 6-8 times while stepping on
gas pedal. It would crank up initially but rpm needle
would go back to zero, as if there is not enough gas
in engine. Again, it is not a hard start-engine would turn on but would die down again; I had a major
tune up @ 125,000 miles and they replaced every-
thing that's needed in the 120,000 tune up except
distributor; the mchanic said if symptoms occur
again in a year, the distributor may need to be
replaced; the car also stalled 2x while I was on the
freeway-i cranked it up right away and it started.
i had it checked again in a different shop but they said nothing's wrong after running diagnostic exam;
