1997 Honda Accord clutch

I have a honda accord 97 I use to drive for pizza delievery. Tonight the clutch seemed tight, it was a pain in the ass to get into fisrt and second. Does the whole clutch need replaced or can it just be needed to be lubed or what? Thanks for the help

Hi mrneeley,

If the gears clashes while trying to engage, it could be the clutch disc slow in returning on a dry clutch shaft, which you need to remove the clutch assy to replace or lubricate. Try this, engage 1st gear, free it, without releasing the clutch, engage again, is it easu to engege the gears? Repeat a few times to confirm.

It could be due to a leaking clutch hydraulic system which will result in insufficient clutch travel.

If you have difficulty finding the notch, then either the cable, shift fork or linkages are loose or worn
