Running at more than 2,000 rpm would be a tad higher than necessary. Though it would not ruin the engine but it is not necessary to have it running that high. A rpm range of 1800 at startup would be nice.
The autochoke can be adjusted to to reduce the start up rpm so you can ask your mechanic to lower it slightly so that the rpm doen not run so high at cold start up.
