1999 Holden Commodore fan belt tensioner

hello

i started my car today and made a hell of a noise and wouldnt start i eventually started it and now it idles rough and misses and now the fan belt tensioner is making a rattling sound can this cause the car to run rough on idle ?

Hi there,

The self adjuster will not in its self make the car run rough, i would be checking plugs, leads and coil packs first as this is the most common cause for this type of problem, start here.
