Engine overheating

I think it might be my water pump not circulating. When I drive the temperature goes up to the red. I have changed the transmission filter and fluid and also the thermostat. I will pull over and see stream coming from what looks to be the water pump, which if I am correct sits on top to the left of the engine turned by belts. Heat will not get hot either. Could this be my problem?

Do the cooling fans come on when it gets hot? When you check the coolant level is it full? How long does it take to get hot? When it gets warm are both of the radiator hoses also hot?

I would start with a pressure test and looking for leaks. If it holds pressure (may not if the pump is bad) Then change the pump, and pressure test again. You need to make sure it was "only" a bad pump.

Do not keep driving it, you can very easily destroy the engine by overheating it (if it is not already)

High temperature could have messed up a sensor. Or it could be unrelated. Most parts stores will scan them for engine codes. If you are having a transmission issue they usually will not scan the transmission.

Okay, I will take it to a parts store for a engine and let you know what they say by Monday.
