I recently removed the head of the Vitz engine after it had failed to start. I discovered that it had damaged the valves so I replaced them. I cleaned the throttle body and MAF sensor and re assembled the components that I had removed. The car is now starting but I have a problem with the idling, it is too high what could be the problem? I am not a mechanic but I have some general knowledge of automotive mechanics.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Since you had everything apart, my first suspect is a vacuum leak. Recheck that all vacuum hoses are attached and not damaged. Also, make sure the air inlet tube from the air filter box is correctly attached. Follow this link to locate a vacuum leak.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
