Title says it all, my vehicle will hesitate to move then when it does move it slowly accelerates up until thirty mph then it is like I get a nitro boost and the car speeds up then drives normal until I slow down or stop then it starts idling rough and sometimes it even stalls out. Any help would be great! I have replaced ignition coil, wires, spark plugs, air and fuel filters, and put a new MAF sensor in it. The fuel filter kind of fixed it for a week, now back to square one.

This sounds like a classic weak fuel pump, but to be sure lets take a fuel pressure reading. You can rent a gauge for free from an auto parts store. Please follow this guide and get back to us.

12V at 300 kPa (3.06 kg/cm2, 43.5 psi)

Please run this test and get back to us.

Shop said it was catalytic converter. Do you know about how much that is going to cost me? I just need a rough estimate so I am not overwhelmed when they get done with it.

Hello, I am Danny.

I do know the companies Flowmaster and MagnaFlow do make aftermarket catalytic converters but, a big problem is it can be really hard purchasing in the state of California. Tough California smog laws out here make it hard. In California you cannot even purchase used as they are destroyed. Dealership can offer replacements as well but can be pricey. Hope this helps!

It should cost between $600.00 and $800.00. Here is a guide to help you get an idea of what you are in for when doing the job:

Please let us know what happens.
