Hesitation while driving

Hi,

Vibration is always present or just at specific speed? First i like to start from the tires and the rims, check wheels screws if tightened properly, check tires air pressure, check the tires condition all must be at the same size and check for tire flat spot that makes lots of vibration, also rims can be bended or out of balance. Other causes are the unbalanced transaxle, drive shaft, brake discs but hesitation appear only when braking.

then you have engine miss firing or engine mounts are bad.
we must narrow down the problem. is check engine light appears when driving? when the vibration can be felt at idle or at high rpm? check engine mounts both sides fig1,its rubber mounts check visually if broken, or try to lift the engine by jack a little bit if defected you can see the mount is in two pieces one on the frame other on the engine, it must be in one piece. also check the transmission mount but you must lift the truck to check it visually. if your problem is engine miss fire, first you must detect which cylinder is not working by removing each spark plug wire when engine hesitation increase it means that cylinder is working properly if not that cylinder is the cause of the problem. check the link below for engine vibration problem
