Headlights will not turn on after installing LED lights

I have the van listed above that I wanted to switch its headlights for new LED ones. I first changed the passenger side bulb, tested it, and it worked. I then proceed changing the driver's side and it didn't work. I re-tested the passenger side and it stopped working. My first guess was the fuses. I immediately noticed that both of them were broken. So, I put in brand new ones, but they still wouldn't turn on. I tried putting back the old bulbs, but they wouldn't turn on. I checked the relay as many people would say by switching it with a new one but that didn't fix it. I don't know what it could be. I have searched but to avail. I would appreciate any help at all.

Hi,

It's odd that it blew a fuse when the LED lights require much less power. Do me a favor. In the under-hood fuse box, I want you to recheck the two 15amp fuses shown in pics 1 and 2 below. Now, in addition to checking the fuse condition, I need you to confirm there is power to and from them. Here is a link showing how to do it:

If the fuses are good and they both have power, I need you to check the fuse identified as main (30 amp) the same way and let me know the results.

Take care,

Joe

If the fuses have power and the relay is good, somehow, we lost power between the two. Did they affect any of the other exterior lighting or anything other?

Do me a favor. Take a look at the pic below and let me know what system you have. That way, I know I'll be looking at the correct wiring schematic to tell you what to do next.

Take care and I'll watch for your reply.

Joe

Hi,

Okay, this may seem a little confusing because there are multiple relays and fuses. Since the DRL works, I suspect we lost ground for one or more of the relays.

If you look below, I attached the wiring schematic for this vehicle. Note I highlighted the wiring to the headlamps, fuses, relays, and grounds. If you are certain that all fuses and relays are good, I need you to locate a specific ground. The wire will be white with a black tracer, and it will be located on the left side of the engine compartment. It should be grounded to the body.

If that ground is in good condition, not damaged or corroded, then go to the right front headlamp (passenger side) and disconnect the connector. Locate the red wire with a white tracer. Turn the lights on (low beam) and see if you have power to that wire at the connector. If you do, check the white/black wire for continuity to ground. Ground should be good since the DRL works, but anything is possible.

Do the same on the left headlamp. The wire there will be a solid red.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,
