All of a sudden the glass of my trunk isn't closing, can anybody help me?
I just got a new battery and haven't connected it because I'm in the process of transmission work so I can't drive it right now anyway. Could my battery have something to do with why it isn't latching? I'm hoping it's something simple. :(

If it goes gown but stays about an inch ope instead of latching it looks like the latch pawl that hold the glass has flipped closed. You can take a screwdriver, put it into the spot where the striker on the glass goes, hit the hatch release and see if it flips open. Mine did this a couple times until I sprayed it with some lubricant. The latch itself doesn't pop open, that is the function of the lever with the black rubber. The latch itself just rotates to open or close.

Fixed it. Was just because battery was disconnected and it wasn't communicating.

No problem. Never had a battery swap cause that on mine. Had the latch trip and it wouldn't shut though.

But it works now so good.
