Gun sound from exhaust due to removal of muffler?

After removal of muffler the engine jerks when in gear and when changing gear gun shot sound is heard from the exhaust especially after lengthy acceleration.

Hi,

By removing the exhaust, you have changed the back pressure for the engine. That, in and of itself, shouldn't cause what you described. However, if you disconnected or damaged oxygen sensor or sensor wiring, that can throw off the air/fuel mixture to the engine.
