gmc yukon 98 engine code

I am getting a trouble code p0440 and p0440pd, I look in the reference code book for the description but it just says evap emission control system malfunction. I am new to the mechanical realm, so I do not know what might be the problem or what in the evap system to check or repair?

In looking at the test procedure for your code, it looks like it could be any number of things in your EVAP system.
I would check your "Eng 1 Fuse 15" 20a fuse in the underhood fuse-relay center, and maybe check the connectors for the Evaporative Emission Cansiter Purge Vale, Evaporative Emission Canister vent, Vehicle Control Module, and EGR and map sensors, and hopefully it is just a loose plug.
Other than that, you are probably going to have to take it to a shop to get it diagnosed.
