Air Conditioner Repair

I have a 2000 GMC Sonoma SL, 2200 CC engine, 120,000 miles. Just yesterday the AC started blowing hot air. I took it to a friend and he said the low pressure switch wont allow the a/c clutch to turn on. He did not know where the switch was, or how to bypass it to allow the compressor to pump the needed freon in.
Please help.

I have a 1998 GMC sonoma 4 banger 5 speed with 87000 miles on it and mine is doing somthing similar. It blows warm air and after an hour it gets kind of cool nothing to cool it off though. Its full on frey on so I dont know whats up
