I have a 2000 model GMC sierra it has a Vortec 4300 V6 engine with 75,000 miles. I love this truck but its doing me no good if i cant count on it to get me home at night. i got in in to go home the other day i put the key and and turned it to the start position and nothing happened no lights or anything so that happens a few more times and then it starts for just a few seconds before it dies. i finally get it to start but its ideling at aroung 2700 rpm's after a few minutes it goes to around 1000 and i take off but i notice that it is accelerating more without me pushing the gas. i have no clue what is wrong with it and i recently replaced the fuel filter. thank you for any suggestions

well we can start with when you said you turn the key and nothing happens , grab the battery cables and see if you can turn them by hand like a quarter of a turn and see what happens , if this gets you started the terminals need to be cleaned we will go from there
