1982 GMC S15 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My 1982 S-15 pick up has a cable opperated clutch and we just put a new one in along with the stablizer or the thing that the cable from the clutch goes on to. Well anyway sometimes the clutch pedal works the other time u push in on the pedal and it goes pop. How can I fix this?

You sure the cable is not kinked inside the cable sleeve-could also be the clutch throwout bearing is binding on the input shaft or the pilot bearing-

Yea Im pretty sure we lubricated the throwout bearing before we put the transmission in. Is there anything besides the cable binding and the throwout bearing
