overdrive not working

:? my dad has a 1991 buick park avenue its automatic and his overdrive is not working he would like to know if anyone knows where the overdrive componet the soenoid is in the car my dad doesn't know where it is and what he has to do to get to it .. iwould apprecate anyone help on this problem thankssssssss so much

solinoid on that should be internal. but what useualy fails first is the torque converter. and if your looking at rebuilding the tranny, you might want to try a product called seafoam tranny restore. i found the seafoam product works well.good luck

The TCC solenoid is located in the transmission pan.
