Dashboard troubles

I currently own a 1996 pontiac grand am with 87000 miles on it. Recently, the gauges on the dashboard have malfunctioned. All of them, the speedometer, tackometer, fuel guage, and water temp guage are all fixed in a certain position and dont move. Also none of the warning lights work. The check oil light and the low fuel warning light always stays on. The rest of the warning lights stay off and have never come on. I have checked the fuses in the car and they are fine. I also once disconnected the battery and reconnected it. The only effect that did was cause some of the warning lights to come on and off very randomly. Any ideas to what the problem is?

A lot of GM cars and trucks use a printed circuit board in the dash to route power, etc, to the instuments.I've seen some where the entire dash is a printed board. If that shorts, there is only one solution. New board or salvage yard board. There is also a plug (connector) that connects the dash to the vehicles wiring system.I've seen that come loose too.
