1996 Other GMC Models V8 175, 00 miles

I have a GMC 2500, V8 Vandura and I have a problem with it. If I start the car, the engine runs for about 5 min then a black smoke came out and the engine shuts off and I am not able to start the car for quite a while. Any idea what can be wrong? Thanks!

Black smoke means its dumping raw fuel, check the spark plugs for fouling and gas depostits, also check the oil, its probably filled with gas. Look down the throttle body for puddles of gas, had a coulpe with a bad fuel pressure regulator, and a few that the plastic gas lines under the manifold split and leaked. Post back with what you find.
