Electrical problem
1997 GMC Jimmy 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1997 GMC Jimmy. For some reason the circuit breaker for the ACC Power (20 amp) keeps tripping in the interior fuse box. I have to keep it out to prevent my battery from dying. If i plug it in then it gets really hot and continues to reset itself. The breaker is for the power door locks, power seats and dome light timer.

this circuit also supplies the sunshade lamps, cigarette lighter as well as a cargo lamp. so when it's dark out pu the breaker in and shut the door with you insside, look to see if you can see any lamps on the sunshades or go utside and see if th underhood light is on. it may be a bad switch which is in the light underhood. Also if you have a cigaretter lighter in the console see if a a coin has fallen sinside it as that will short out the breaker as well.
