Hello, I have a 1995 GMC jimmy 4wheel drive 4.3 vortec motor. I was at work truck would start then die right back out. Now it wont start at all. I notice that when I turn the key on my battery gauge still works and the dash background light works but the other lights will not work(etc. Check engine light, seatbelt light, airbag light, etc. Ect.) I replaced the ignition module thinkin that may have been the problem but still same thing wont start. The motor does turn over and I am getting gas my geuss is its some sort of electrical problem because the lights on dash are not coming on

Scan the computer for code/s and comeback with it and also do below to determine if its fuel or spark problem

Get a starting fluid or ether and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
