2004 GMC C1500 Blow hot air

Sometime when the ac is turned on it blows hot aire. The next time you turn it on it will blow ice cold.

Hi:
I need you to check something. When it blows hot air, check and see if the compressor is locking up like it should. If not, check to see if there is power to the compressor.

Let me know what you find.
