1997 GMC C1500 AC only blows out floor vents

Air Conditioning problem
1997 GMC C1500 V8 Automatic 140000 miles

ac only blows out floor vents and ac compressor wont come on. Pulled dash and found its all electronic. There appears to be power to the printed circuit board. Before I buy what appears to be a very expensive switch, is there anything else I need to check?

There are a few fuses that need to be checked. In the underhood fuse center, A/C maxi fuse (50 amp), IGN mini fuse, A/C comp mini fuse and in the fuse block fuse 12- heater-a/c. The orange wire at the controller should be batt power, Brown hot with key on, blk is ground. If all ok, you may have a bad controller since you have more than one issue (vent and a/c control) Did this happen at the same time?
