My truck won't start. It simply cranks and doesn't fire. I disconnected the fuel line from the carburetor, but it didn't seem to leak from there. I took off the fuel filter and pumped the gas to make sure that the fuel pump was working and it seemed to be working fine. Could it be the fuel filter or something else thats causing it not to start? Maybe something as simple as changing the spark plugs and wires?

Hello, hope you got it fixed by now? Usually if the vehicle cranks good but won't start, I have a helper crank it, while I check for spark at the plugs. You can just pull a plug wire loose, use a known good plug or spark tester, ground to engine block, look for spark at the tip of plug, as the engine is cranked. If you have good spark everywhere, check fuel pressure.

If you have TBI fuel injection, you can see the injectors spray gas as the engine is cranked. Because there is a spray pattern, doesn't mean the pressure is good. You might also check for trouble-codes.
