On the way home I smelt gas and started to lose power when driving home. I pulled into a parking lot and had gas leaking from the charcoal canister. What causes this and what needs to be done. After The gas stopped coming out of the canister I was able to drive home without any problems. The charcoal canister did not leak any more. I removed the charcoal canister and did not see any problems visually with it. Is there a problem that needs to be corrected with this or a different valve.

Thanks Tom

There is a valve on the coolant assy. (where thermostat is ) it is called a Bi-Metal Switching Valve and has two vacuum lines coming from it. If broke it will affect cannicter.
