More than likely your clutch is not operating and disengaging the clutch disc from the fly wheel which is why it is stuck in gear. Basically the clutch is there to remove pressure or tension from the disc and flywheel and if the clutch does not disengage these two then it is very difficult to change gears.
I would suggest having someone press the clutch while you monitor the throw bearing to see if it is operating. If not, you are going to have to remove it and repair/replace it and all other clutch components while you are there.
