So, I just changed out my valve body due to a solenoid failure and after putting it all back together I notice when I turn the car on there’s only a number 1 on the gear selector and it says that on all gears. I checked fuses to see if I’ve blown a fuse and all looks good.

It sounds like the gear range sensor is not plugged in completely or the sensor has gone bad. Here is the location and how to replace it so you can check it out. Do the other gears work like reverse and park? Check out the diagrams below to help show you what I am talking about. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Thanks for the video and image. I would definitely look at the transmission electrical connector, also when you reinstalled the valve body did you reconnect the Park/neutral switch electrical connector? Please check out he images above to see what I am talking about.

So, I figured it out thanks for the help. The gear lever on the valve body was further back than the gear shifter so it was stuck in first and the shifter even though it is moving was moving it was never attached to the lever. But now it starts and will go into gear when I hit the peddle the RPMs don’t move. Even in park if I floor it the rpm’s barely creep up and will not go past 2,000.
