All of the dash gauges stopped working, the blinkers and the park and drive indicators as well. I drove it they were all on the next time I drove it they were all off. I checked and replaced some of the fuses under the dash. Can anyone help?

Hi,

I attached a copy of the wiring schematic and circled two fuses to check first. You may have already checked them, but I'm not sure.

Next, in addition to checking the fuses, confirm there is power both in and out from it. Here is a link that you may find helpful:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

I had to cut the schematic into two parts to make it readable. However, I did overlap them so you can follow them easier. (pics 1 and 2)

Note that both of these fuses are located under the hood in the power distribution box.

Let me know. Also, make sure nothing has come loose under the dash where the harness plugs into the instrument cluster.

Take care,
Joe

We reset the instrument panel and the gauges have been working every since but still no signals. We were just looking up the fuses when I got your response. We could not figure where they were located. You helped us tremendously with the circled photo. I appreciate your help so much! I'll let you know and again man, thanks a lot!

None of my dash gauges work. Once and a while they come back on and then go off again. The blinker lights at times don't work either. The car alarm light stays on.

The cluster itself is probably bad. Have seen many on this truck. The cluster needs to be sent out for repair.

All the instruments stopped working, along with that the lockes on the doors when u reach 15 mph stopped at the same time. Sometimes the gauges will come back on and the doors will lock but it is soon to go back out. I changed the connectors to the battery posts and checked all fuses and now im lost

The body computer uses shared information all coming from the vehicle speed sensor.
Test your computer for a speed sensor fault code. It's called a VSS. They had problems with the sensor and plastic gear also. It can shut the van off and affect the speed control also.

I have a 96 dodge grand caravan es. When I got it the speedo, tach, fuel, temp, and odo gauges did not work. Then on the way home they all started working. Today they worked while I was driving around town and then I parked in my driveway and went to leave again later that night and none of them work. I have checked all the fuses on the drivers side inside and out. Am I missing some fuses somewhere? Also the radio works and I get static from the speakers when on am/fm. When you turn the power to it on and off I can here a clicking noise coming from the fuse panel under steering wheel. Please Help.

You may be. Under the hood is a power distribution center. You may find a problem there. The ground for both the radio and instrument panel are in the center of the dash, back behind the radio, and next to your left foot is a trim panel, there is a ground there and in the same place on the other side. If you can find out which relay or module is clicking, it may be that also. So there are 5 spots to look. And if you use a 12 volt test light and ground its clip on any good piece of steel or frame, it will light. This is a power test. If you put your test light to 12 volts, it becomes a ground check. If you find the clicking relay or module, write down the color of the wires, and let me know. Remember, when checking for grounds with a test light, the key should be off, so be careful as you may blow a fuse in one of the two fuse locations. 1. Where you already looked and 2. In the power distribution center, a black covered box, under the hood. Is this a Dodge radio?
In the power center number 2, I spoke of, there should be a couple of spare fuses and relays, so you have them. Need a 12volt test light to test for power or ground. This is the least expensive way to test an automotive circuit. And the only way, to make sure a fuse is good, and has power.

AM and FM can both be intermittent on the Alpine-built cd / radio without cassette. I've repaired a lot of them. The repair is permanent but it's definitely not a do-it-yourself repair.

The Mitsubishi-built cd / cassette combo can develop intermittent FM only; not AM. These are also a complicated repair, but once repaired, it won't ever act up again. These problems stem from automated manufacturing techniques.

Besides what ch112063 mentioned, the connector pins on the back of the instrument cluster can work loose. Soldering them to the copper circuits is an effective repair.

Check the connector pins on the back of the instrument cluster to see if they're loose. They can be soldered to the copper circuits.

Gauges stop working. Check all relays, fuse links, fuses; blower motor works if direct current is apply. This is new to me, been working with the problem for weeks.
Read a post question about the same, but do not know the result. I have another ECU and try changing it, but still the same.
Any help?

Your title says "Gauges", but then you mentioned the heater blower. Did these things quit at the same time? Are they all dead all the time or does this occur at random? Do you have a factory cassette player in your radio, and do you have power windows?

Radio is working, climate control unit, blower, heater does not, compressor works fine. All lights on the instrument panel are on: safety bag, battery check engine, battery (but the car is charging) and check gauges. When it start all are off it takes less that a minute to turn then on.
Gas, speedometer and temp gauges does not work.
About fifteen years ago the radiator fan motor get shorted inside and damage the computer regulator, took it a electro-mechanic shop, they cut the connectors to the alternator and setup an external regulator. It worked fine for more than fifteen years. Two months ago I bought a used computer and replace the connector to alternator and it start working fine. This week the problem with the gauges came up.

The dashboard gauges on my Caravan do not work (speedometer, RPM, oil, gas, and battery). All the other electrical is fine. I tried the fuses but that's not the problem. Also, at one point they came back on when I started the van only not work the next time I started the van after that. This makes think that there is a loose connection somewhere but I just don't know where to look.
Could it be something simple that I can take care myself?

With thanks,
John

Well it mostlikely one of two things, either the connection behind the gauges is loose, or the body control module has a bad connection at one of its leads, I ve experienced both of these possibilites, with my own and with a customers.
