I have a leaking front gas tank. I intend to replace it with new. My manual says it is a 19 gallon but other sites say the front tank is 16 gallon. I also am not sure how to tell if it is side mount or not. If I order a tank with pump and sending unit installed, what other parts do I need? Do I need tp replace the fuel filler neck and fuel lines as well? How do I determine what fuel lines I need to order?

Hi,

If you are referring to the "mid-ship" fuel tank, there were two options. One was a 17 gal and one was a 19 gallon. The rear tank, behind the axle, could be an 18 or 19 gallon tank.

Here is what I suggest: If you look below at pic 1, it indicates the options for the mid ship tank and the one after the axle. Additionally, it provides the original part numbers.

I'm not sure what you are considering, but see if the OEM part number crosses to the new take you want to purchase.

Also, inspect the fuel filler tube for rust issues. If it is in good conditions and has no leaks, there is no need to replace it. Do the same with the fuel lines. If they look good, there is no need for replacement.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions. Additionally, let me know which tank you are replacing (front or rear) and I'll get the directions for removal and install for you.

Take care,

Joe
