Just redid the timing belt after buying it from a guy who changed the knock sensor. Got it all back together and it’ll start, run a few seconds then cut off. We started smelling raw fuel so I had someone turn the key while looking under the hood and noticed fuel spraying from around the exhaust manifold on cylinder 6. Please help. I start a new job in a few days and need my truck on the road.

Hi,

That doesn't sound good. Listen, I attached a pic below. The fuel rail on this has two sides. I highlighted areas that could be leaking. Check these things and let me know if you see where it is coming from. Also, be careful.

It’s not leaking from the rail. It’s pushing it out from around the manifold gasket. Could it be that I have vacuum lines hooked up wrong or have the driver side cam out by 180 degrees?

Hi,

That honestly doesn't make sense. The intake is under a lot of vacuum. It wouldn't push fuel out. Could it be the injector where it mounts? There is an o-ring that could be bad or the insulator isn't properly installed on the intake. See the attached pics.

If possible, could you take a pic of where you see the leak and upload it for me to see?

Let me know.

Hi,

Sounds like a plan. I have a feeling it is at the injector and appears to be from the manifold. The intake has a strong enough vacuum going through it to prevent what you described.

Let me know.
