I've taken my car to a mechanic, and he couldn't figure out what's wrong with it. But any time I come to a complete stop and go there's a pop noise in the front end and it sounds like something is loose. It randomly shuts off at a complete stop, but it'll come back on when I turn it on. There are popping noises when I turn. It just sounds horrible and I don't want to take my car to a mechanic just to spend a bunch of money to not have the problem fixed.

Does this happen enough for us to get a recording of the noise?

When you described it, I assumed it was a spring related issue but if the noise happens after the engine stalls, then this may be a backfire.

Hearing it will help determine what this is.

However, I am attaching a couple guides that will help with this issue if it is a backfire or a suspension noise.

Let's start with this info and get a recording then I am sure we will have enough to start on the right path.

Thanks

It's definitely not a backfire. I know what that is and what that sounds like. The car only shuts off randomly when I'm stopped. And the front-end noise is a popping noise. It's loud when I come to a complete stop and then go. And makes popping noises when I'm turning.

Okay. So that means we most likely do not have a related issue between the stalling and popping noise.

I would still like to hear it because if I am correct about the spring issue then that would make a distinct noise.

This could be a cracked spring or just a mount issue so do you think you can get a recording?

Thanks for the quick reply.
