Battery cranking amps?

I wolud like to know how does it affect my car having an 850 cranking amps battery while the original was 650. The car is a 1997 ford windstar 3.8L and have a milleage of 144400.

650 amps is how many CCAs your vehicle needs for reliable cold weather starting. The replacement battery should have the same or higher CCA rating as the original battery. Bigger is usually better, but keep in mind that some batteries sacrifice "reserve capacity" to achieve higher CCA numbers.

I agree with raz! As long as you have the same group battery, the more CCA's the better! You don't wanna cheap lower CCA battery that has a warranty for a year so you can replace in 6 months. Go bigger and better! Remember. You get what you pay for. Good luck my friend! 8) 8) 8)
