The drive belt squeaks and at times the engine cuts off.

Hi:
Most likely you need to replace the belt. Here is a test. Open the hood, and start the car. With the engine runnning, pour a a small amount of water on the belt to see if it stops making noise. If it does, replace it. The routing diagrams are available on this page if you them.

Make sure to cover your eyes because the water will splash.

Jacobandnickolas thank you for your help. I replaced the belt and it is still doing the same thing still squeaking and cuting off. When it cuts off it squeaks right when it cuts off as if something is seazing up. When the belt was off all the pullies truned fine without any noise.

Hi:
Did you try the water test? I know it sounds crazy, but I can tell what is going on from that test. Also, something is causing the belt to make that noise. Maybe the belt tensionier is bad.
