I've been boosted 3 times in the last month. My mechanics made a diagnostic on the FEM module with a cost of 800.00 average price. I've seen a Ford dealer and he diagnostic my alternator. My mechanics is saying it's impossible because during is test he disconnected the alternator. The loss or link was about 4 amp. And not constant.
My check ingine light is again on 2 days after the repair. My battery was going off only on cold situation ( winter )
I've bought a new battery hoping to solve the problem, but it seems it's not the matter.

Use a voltmeter across battery terminals. You should be getting 13-14 volts output from alteranator. If you getting less than 13 your alternator is not working correctly. Let me know

The voltage was in those area. The Ford tech said the problem was not constant.
My mechanics made the test with an unpluged alternator and the variability of 4 amps appear time to time.
How can a 4 amps link can be detected with an unplugged alternator? If it's the alternator who is the problem?

I don't understand how they can check with the alty unplugged? Unless he was saying the
FEM is taking 4 amps with alty unplugged? It is possible the alty is getting worn and not charging constantly hence the intermittent. But is also possible something is just draining the system. What fault code is coming up with the CEL on?
