I have searched far and wide regarding this issue so now I'm here.

I've read many posts from people who have had power steering issues with a winstar. This particular issue has left me stumped because I cannot see a power steering fluid leak anywhere. The reservoir appears to be normal. The steering makes noises whenever turning and I'm running out of things to check.

I want to verify a few things before taking it to a mechnanic because there are no honest ones in Vegas. If I don't go in able to identify what they need to look at, I will be assessed for all kinds of parts replacements that will not fix the problem.

Looking for advice on things I can look at, try, and verify before taking car to a mechanic.

Any ideas?

Hi:
First, this is a common issue with these vans. You can try to have the unit serviced (replace the fluid), with an additive to see if that helps. Most of the time it doesn't. I've seen situations where people have replace the pump and the new pump does the same. If you have it replaced, I recommend getting a NEW pump.

Are there any other symptoms other than noise?
