I have a dead tbird. Drove home last night from work and no problems, went out to the car this AM and it just cranks and no start. The car has ALWAYS started, has not acted erattic but now will not start.I have seen queasions asked here about the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter. When I turn on the key, with the gas cap off and my ear close to the opening I can hear the gas pump whir.I have tripped the inertia switch and plugged it back in and the fuel pump whirs normally. Now for a car to die like this how can I check the fuel comming out of the pump. OR replace the fuel pressure regulator. Please, any help would be a groovy thing as this car has always driven excelent. It has the 4.6 v8 and had run like a dream. Thanks from Hampton, Virginia

If the fuel pump is heard its working and if it was weak the car will start but shake bad. Mostlikely u need a new ignition control module go to kragen. Com and look at the pic so u can see what it looks like. They can be pricy, if u wanna save money go to your local junkyard and look for a car that has your engine any ford with 4.6 v8 is the same doesnt have to be tbird. And try that if not get it new but it will cost round 150 and up and in junk yard maybe 15 bucks or less. Good luck
