1994 Ford Tempo 215000 miles

Hi,
My dad bought a used car for me at $500. Lately when driving the car shook, it was loud, and smelled of exhaust. I got it checked out and it needed alot of work. Wheel bearing to right side was changed, new muffler, tire rods(inner and outer), and harmonic balance. All of which came to $1500. I like driving it but it sounds as though it wants to stal when coming to a stop. It still vibrates a little bit. My mechanic told me, the left wheel bearing needed to be changed as well as a tune-up! I'm puttin more money into fixing this car then what my dad paid for it. If these are fixed and it continues to vibrate and sound loud or stall, what could be the problem?
