Subject spells out the current issue. Car with 96K miles. I had a P0172/174 code issue that turned out the be a hole in the PVC hose. I replaced it but while doing so removed the Plenium and found excess carbon in the tintake zone. I cleaned all of the with Carb cleaner and replaced all gaskets and worn hoses. At same time battery went on the fritz. After assy I then received P0102 code. I replace battery and still recieve P0102 code. Symptoms are transmission upshifting rough (never did before) and MIL light. Engine Diag show fuel trim constantly at 99% on B1S2 and B2S2, I assume this is lean when positive. Engine runs great aflter PCV hose fix and carbon clean-out.

So what's with S2 fuel trim and tranny shifting?

Hey Zue,
Glad to have you around here.

Take some electrical cleaner and clean the MAF, That is probably affect the fuel trim and the code you have. The original codes also lead to a contaminated MAf. Or at least may have been part of the equation.

No transmission codes?

Which tanny ax4s or ax4n?

Motor size with VIN (8th digit)

You are right on about MAF. I forgot to mention that I had cleaned this a few times with no improvements.

The only code thrown is the P0102. Would the tranny codes also come through the standard MIL code reader or do you need a special tool? Motor size is 3.0 L Dual Overhead Cam. I do not know the tranny #.
