Heater problem
2003 Ford Taurus Engine Size unknown Automatic 90000 miles

Other day I turned on the heater, blower fan didn't run, then I turned it to increase it but it worked only at MAX, made squeal noise. Then I checked it swiching to A/C again it works only at MAX. During summer fan worked great when I was uning A/C. Now I started using heater it work on high and very noisy. Any help on this is appreciated.

Your actual problem has little to do with heater or A/C. The problem is water in the blower case. Water enters through the pollen filter under the hood and corrodes the fan and a relay. The relay is what controls fan speed. There use to be a Service bulliten for this repair. You may check with your local dealer to see if this problem can be fixed at no cost to you.

I would replace the blower motor for the noise and the speed resistor for the fan speed problem, here is the location and how to do the job. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
