I have been having this problem for about 6 months now. And when I take it to someone, they give me blank stares and say alternator. I have put a new alternator on about 4 years ago and just got a new battery. The problem is when I drive, the battery light blinks on and off, sometimes stays on and my lights dim. Nothing else happens. My car doesnt act like its going to break down and nothing else electrical inside the car shuts off or dims. But it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes more than others, and sometimes not at all, but it is starting to happen more frequently. I just want to know what is going on with my car. Please someone help me.

4 years old alternator doesn't mean its a good alternator and need to be checked and tested and after test confirm it a good alternator and its diode working as it should
check small wire at rear of alternator very common for it to be loose and or broken
if I recall the color it was Lt GRN/RED wire

Thanks so much. I drove it yesterday and realized that the interior lights were dimming when the headlights dim as well. Also that if I set the cruise control, it seems to make the battery light come on more often. I will get the alternator checked as soon as possible though. Thanks for the answer! =)
