I have a 2000 Ford Taurus the problem I have is when u crank the car the idle was falling below 1 and would shake and sometimes cut off I went and got it checked and the idle part replaced but that didnt fix the problem now when you crank the car it will sit for a min or so then it will start sputtering like it wants to cut off and sometimes it does but after you drive it it seems to be fine but its happening more often when its being cranked, at first it only did it the first crank of the day. So do you have any idea what the problem could be?

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Has anyone checked the EGR? Is the check engine light coming on when this happens?

Well when I first bought the car the check engine light was on but soon after I had it it went off & idk what all has been checked because all the backwoods mechanics where I live think they know it all but nothing ever gets fixed!

It could be several things. I would start with the easiest thing and that is looking for vacuum leaks. Check for that and let me know what you find.
