I have a 99 taurus. Everytime I brake and accelerate, the parking brake light comes on but will go off when I reach over 45 mph. I know the brake is off, but am not sure why the light is staying on. Why would it be coming on?

Hi there,

Check that the brake fluid level is not a bit low, some cars use the park light as the low brake fluid warning, and if the fluid is a bit low the movement of the car may be just enough to trigger the warning light, if the fluid level is ok, re post this info and I will check out the electric circuit for the switch.

Make sure your parking brake pedal is all the way up, sometimes it'll drop a hair turning on the red light. Also the light switch itself is a piece of garbage
