Screws holding solenoid on came loose and solenoid came loose from starter. Replaced screws and reattached solenoid to starter. Getting voltage to solenoid but get nothing but a click when trying to start car. Is there only two wires that are connected to solenoid? Possitive and ground. Or should there be another wire. There are three connecting posts on solenoid, but only two have wires connected to them. Trying to find out if the solenoid is bad and if there is a way to test it to rule it out before going and buying one to replace.

Thanks for you help

If you remove the starter, most parts stores will bench test it for free. If you can't get it there, have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check to see if ther is 12 volts going to the smaller wire on the starter. IF there is, solenoid is most likely bad.
