1995 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1995 ford taurus. I dont hear the fuel pump engaging when I turn the key over. I was wpondering if there is a way to test the fuel pump to see if it is good. Or is there a way to jump the fuel pump? It has been sitting for a year because of trans problems. It started and ran fine, except for the trans prob. Before I parked it a year ago. I have a VIPER ALARM SYSTEM. I thought I may have disarmed the ignition with the VIPER but not to familar with the VIPER system. So I tried unpluging the alarm. Still same results, I dont hear the fuel pump engaging. Any trouble shooting techniques? Thanks in advance.

You might try testing at the bump switch, your owners manual should give the location. It may be in the trunk on the passenger side. You could try resetting the switch, if there is voltage going into the switch, there should be voltage coming out. With the vehicle cranking.

Plug the Viper alarm back in. Unplugging is not the right way to reset the alarm. Disarm the system using your keyfob. One flash is to arm, two flashes to disarm. Another way to reset/disarm the alarm is by looking for the reset button. Usually installer put it on the driver side kick panel or somewhere close to the vicinity. While pressing the reset button, turn the key to start. That will reset the alarm system.

Your inertia fuel shutoff switch is located in the trunk compartment, for sedan is above left rear wheel well, and for wagon is behind access door right rear wheel well.
