1995 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Automatic

my engine won't start but when it does if you put car in reverse it turns off.and when it does work, when i accelerate it pulls back and seems like its clogged because it won't speed up without forcing it. it turns off at stops unless i put it on neutral. and it was over heating. i can't drive it for more than 10 min cause the engine wont start again. what is the problem with the car. my dad changed the throttle position sensor and now the car barely wants to turn on.but it wont run.

HAs the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Have you checked to see if the catalytic converter is plugged?

As far as the overheating, is it all the time?
