I have a 1993 Ford Taurus 3.8L. I was driving the car, and it jerked hard once, lost power, and cut off. I had the car towed home, because it wouldn't re-start. We replaced the fuel pump, because it was not coming on. After we replaced it with a new one, it didn't come on either. We unplugged the shutoff switch in the trunk, and hot wired the fuel pump to the battery. The fuel pump started running, but the car still would not start. We replaced the big relay control box with the 24 pin connector, and the fuel pump still does not come on, and the car still will not start. All fuses are good. We are stumped. This car is a daily driver. Please help!

Is there power to the fuel pump relay? Have you checked it?

How do you check it. When I put a voltmeter on it, and make a complete circuit, it comes on. But when it is plugged into the connector, it dosen't. How many relays are there for the fuel pump?

There is only one fuel pump relay. Take and switch it with one that has the same part number to see if it makes a difference.

Is the fuel pump relay in the big relay box, with the big 24 pin connector, or is it stand alone in a different location. Thanx for the help.
